I have an extensive background in retail management as well as all my experiences in computer programming and training.

I spent the passed fifteen years in retail, while continuing to perform computer consulting jobs. I created a single retail specialty store and grew it to a six store chain in the Connecticut area.

Along with my husband, I created the small chain of retail comic and collectible stores in Connecticut, named the Dream Factory. The following outlines the sequence of store openings for our chain of 6 store locations:

  • In 1985, we opened our flagship store in Norwalk, CT.
  • In 1986, we opened the store in Milford, CT.
  • In 1987, we opened the store in Orange, CT.
  • In 1989, we opened two mall stores simultaneously:
    • one in Trumbull, CT and
    • one in New Haven, CT
  • In 1991, we opened the store in the CT Post Mall, Milford, CT.

It was with these two mall stores that we engaged in an expansion plan to open 25 stores throughout the United States. The chain was sold to a Chicago based corporation and I remained involved as President of the retail division after the company went public. We expanded the chain further to twenty-one stores throughout the United States. As a matter of course, upper management was replaced and a reorganization took place.

I was involved in preparing financial information and projections for the nationwide expansion plan used in the Initial Public Offering of the chain of stores. I developed and implemented the tracking systems for product purchases as well as performing all administrative tasks required in running the business. I was instrumental in the development of the design and build-outs of the retail chain after the Initial Public Offering. After the Public Offering, I maintained the position of President of the National chain, in which I was responsible for more than one hundred employees.
